Clicking the button opens a WhatsApp conversation with your number, pre-filled with a message you choose. On mobile it opens the WhatsApp app; on desktop it opens WhatsApp Web. No account linking, no third-party service, and no JavaScript loaded from anyone else's server.

Why a WhatsApp button converts
Shoppers abandon carts over unanswered questions: sizing, delivery time, stock, compatibility. Email is slow and phone is friction. WhatsApp is the channel most of your customers already have open — and messages there get read in minutes rather than days. Setup in under two minutes
- Install the extension
- Go to Stores → Configuration → AppifyCommerce → Whatsappify
- Enter your WhatsApp number with country code (for example +919601474876)
- Set the greeting message shoppers will send you
- Choose position and colours, then Save
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with WhatsApp Business? Yes. Any number that can receive WhatsApp messages works — personal or Business.
What happens on desktop? The button opens WhatsApp Web, so desktop shoppers can message you without a phone.
Can I set the message the customer sends? Yes. You set the pre-filled text, so conversations start with context instead of a blank thread.
Can I hide it on mobile? Yes — mobile visibility is a separate setting.
Will it slow my store down? The extension adds one small CSS file and one small JS file, both served from your own store. There are no third-party scripts and no external requests.
Do I need a WhatsApp API account? No. It is a click-to-chat link, so there is no API, no approval process and no per-message cost.
Which Magento versions are supported? Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source 2.4.
