Overview
According to statistics, a user will leave a website if it takes more than 3 seconds to load. Poor site performance makes you lose potential customers before they visit your store. Google PageSpeed Insights is a free tool that allows checking the speed of the website loading. If the result is below 90 points, we recommend you to discover the ways to make your site perform better.
The Google Page Speed Optimizer extension for Magento 2 helps you to prevent losing potential customers by increasing your site performance. First, the extension optimizes your code structure: you can minify, merge, and move to bottom HTML, CSS, and JS. In addition to this, the JavaScript Bundling feature will significantly reduce the page size in kilobytes. Secondly, Google Page Speed Optimizer reduces image size without any quality loss. With the flexible settings, you are free to choose the necessary quality level to get after compression and displaying format (resize or crop). Webp format is also available. Finally, enable the Lazy Load feature to reduce page loading time and prevent website pages from lagging. Adjust your preload images strategy to make your store even faster.
The extension is also compatible with Hyva theme to optimize the performance and functionality of an online store.
Account & Pricing
No separate account is needed, but the correct functioning of the extension requires some special software to be installed: JPEG optimization tool / PNG optimization tool / GIF optimization tool / WEBp tool. If you are not sure how to install the necessary software on the server correctly, please contact your administrator or the Amasty Support Team.

Optimize Code Structure
Move JS To Footer
To improve the page rendering speed, it is recommended to place JavaScript to footer. This action lets the useful content load faster and enhances the overall user experience.
Sign Static File
JS and CSS files are cached by browsers when a user visits a page for the first time. The extension makes you avoid showing old versions of pages to customers by signing static files.
Minify HTML, CSS & JS
Reduce the original code size from 10% to 20% by removing all the unnecessary comments, line breaks, tabs, and spaces.
Use Asynchronous Indexing
With the asynchronous indexing, you prevent conflicts between different operations. This causes a higher site performance.
Shorten the Query in the Database
Use a flat table to shorten the query in the database. The shorter the query, the better the store performance is.
Merge CSS & JS
With the extension, merge several JS and CSS files into one. Create an advanced bundle of JS using the Advanced JS Bundling feature to reduce your page size in kilobytes. As a result, the page content loads faster and Google rank for both mobile and desktop versions is improved.
New: Activate Server Push
When users come to a page, they make requests and browser responds. The more requests are made, the more time it takes for the browser to respond. The Server Push feature enforces the browser to return all responses at once, without waiting for a customer to make them. Thus, shoppers get all the information beforehand, which reduces the loading time.
New: Create Extra-fast Mobile Pages
Now Google Page Speed Optimizer includes AMP extension for free so that you could get the most of mobile performance. The mobile speed is increased thanks to Webp images and super-lightweight accelerated mobile pages.
New: Minify PHTML Files To Speed Up Non-cacheable Pages
Deliver dynamic content faster. Such pages as Shopping Cart or Checkout can't be cached for faster rendering, that's why they need a completely new approach. Now you can minify JavaScript in PHTML files used on these pages to make them load faster.
Images Compression
Automatically Optimize Images
Speed up your site by compressing the size of all JPEG, PNG, and GIF images on your site store pages without any quality loss. Also, the extension equips your site with the lazy loading option. It makes off-screen images load only when a customer scrolls to them and thus prevents pages lagging.
Use Webp Image Format
Optimize your website images using a smart algorithm of compression. Webp format provides a smaller image size with high image quality at the same time.
Create Images In Smaller Resolutions
When a shopper scrolls a store using a mobile or a tablet device there's no point in loading a high-resolution image on a small display. The module automatically creates copies of images suitable for mobile and tablet devices. Using smaller resolutions positively influence a Google rank for mobiles.
Select Resize Algorithm
A resize and a crop image algorithm is available via smart options. When you choose to resize, images will be cut proportionally to the originals, but become smaller in pixels. When you crop, you cut a part of the image, changing its width. Make sure the pictures on your product pages are displayed appropriately and change the algorithm if needed.
Optimize Media In Bulk
Using the Multi-Process Generation option, you may compress images faster. The setting allows you to run multiple threads and minimize the time spent on your media optimization. Moreover, it is possible to automatically optimize newly uploaded images in Catalog and Wysiwyg folders.
Speed Up Loading
Activate User-Agent
Apply User-Agent to automatically pre-load properly optimized images for any device. Employ all advanced page speed and overall performance optimization techniques for Magento 2 store, including Lazy Load, WebP, and image resize at once. This way, no matter what device your customer may have, the pages will load in no time.
Adjust Lazy Load Strategy
Due to extension settings, you can choose which strategy of two lazy loading scripts suits your system best: select jQuerry Lazy Script or Native JS Lazy Script.
